Our products encompass fundamental payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, risk management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later), insurance, and more to ensure our users have a smooth and secure payment experience across ByteDance platforms. About User Experience Design (UED) Team: We at Global Payment User Experience Design (UED) team are growing at a rapid pace and we are actively seeking out the best talents to join us on this adventure where your contributions will make a global impact for our global customers. We’re looking for a talented Motion Designer to help bring our storytelling and UI to life through thoughtful animation and motion design, supporting key business units such as TikTok Shop, TikTok Creator, TikTok PayLater, and more. You’ll collaborate closely with product and visual designers to craft motion assets that enhance clarity, usability, and engagement across ByteDance’s suite of global payment products. This is a high-impact role where design and animation meet functional interaction to improve real user experiences at scale. Responsibilities: - Design high-quality motion graphics, animations, and video content to support product UI, feature launches, marketing campaigns, and user education across mobile and web. - Collaborate closely with UI designers, product managers, and engineers to define and implement motion design solutions for in-app experiences, transitions, micro-interactions, and animations that enhance usability and delight. - Create storyboards, animatics, and prototypes to effectively communicate motion concepts and user flows. - Support occasional storytelling or internal communication needs with 3D renders or motion visuals. - Maintain a consistent motion language and visual guidelines aligned with ByteDance and product branding. - Stay current with motion design trends, tools, and especially the evolving space of generative AI in creative workflows. - Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively, ensuring high-quality output within deadlines. **Qualifications** Minimum Qualifications - 2-4 years of professional experience in motion design, animation, or related fields. - A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of UI animation, motion graphics, and/or video-based storytelling. - Proficiency in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lottielabs and ideally some 3D tools (e.g. Spline, Cinema 4D, Blender). - Demonstrated understanding of fundamental design principles (typography, color theory, composition, layout) and animation principles (timing, easing, anticipation, squash & stretch). - High attention to detail with the ability to maintain consistency across assets. - Clear communication skills and a collaborative, feedback-driven mindset. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with UX/UI design is a plus - Experience in creating motion designs within digital product environments (apps, web platforms). - Familiarity with design systems and working alongside product teams. - Experience with or interest in generative AI tools (e.g., Runway, Sora, Firefly, Midjourney) for creative workflows. - Background in fintech or other complex product domains is a plus. **Job Information** About Us - Founded in 2012, ByteDance's mission is to inspire creativity and enrich life.
