Description

The Logistics Solutions Specialist/Logistics Solution Engineer is responsible for designing and coordinating development of end-to-end bespoke logistics solutions for customer, across transportation, warehousing and freight forwarding operations.

Analytical and logical, he/she is required to develop complex logistics solutions and to convince customers to adopt solutions proposed, including material sourcing, solutioning and price of solutions. He/she is also expected to deal with internal and external stakeholders frequently.

Tasks
- Analyse and interpret data and research outputs to offer explanations for data findings.
- Analyse customer logistics service needs by building communicative and open relationships.
- Analyse the wider implications of analysis and research to draw inferences on logistics operations.
- Collaborate with key account managers to identify new business and grow relationships that assist in revenue generation within assigned verticals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to grow relationships that assist in revenue generation within assigned verticals.
- Conduct studies to determine the prevalent trends, dynamics and market movements.
- Develop alternatives to enhance operational policies, standards and procedures.
- Develop business solutions using big data analytics.
- Develop co-created solutions with customers to enhance offering and competitiveness.
- Evaluate logistics operating procedures.
- Identify appropriate solutions to address customer queries based on sales or customer management knowledge.
- Identify measures to review and improve supply chain programme management plans.
- Manage data through a combination of data mining, modelling, analysis, cost-benefit analysis, process mapping and/or problem analysis to support data management initiatives.
- Manage stakeholders to monitor completion of requirements and activities.
- Optimise use of allocated resources within business activities.
- Perform basic risk assessment.
- Plan delivery of logistics services that meet customer requirements.
- Review costs and benefits of big data solutions to identify the most appropriate approach to address business needs.
- Review gaps in supply chain operations.
- Supervise teams at work.
- Manage fleet of heavy vehicles to ensure availability and serviceability of the fleet to meet the demands of daily operations
- Plan and allocation / deployment drivers and vehicles and update Transport Management System (TMS)
- Manage and review schedules & routing to ensure drivers to meet daily jobs with accordance to client's requirement
- Solve daily operational issues encountered by drivers with customers or site personnel
- Maintain close interactions with customers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Generate weekly / monthly reports on driver's performance
- Plan continuous improvement activities and performance improvement strategies
