**ABOUT THE POSITION**:
APAC Controller will be a leading member of the APAC Finance team reporting directly to the APAC CFO. This role will be supporting our businesses in India, Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia and Japan and the applicant must have scope to expand into other jurisdictions as the Company grows.

The role requires close collaboration with four key stake holders groups: The Country CFO’s & their controllers, the APAC Portfolio Finance Director and that execution team, the USA based Global Audit & Accounting teams and APAC CFO. That means the applicant must be a very proactive communicator with a very strong sense of ownership.

**As the APAC Region Controller, you will**:

- Provide leadership for the controllership function and be the leading interface working in close collaboration with the region Leadership, per those stated above, as well as FP&A Director, Regional GM’s, Legal team and others as necessary.
- Be a pro-active hands-on regional accounting professional with in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and relevant regional country statutory GAAP knowledge and ensure compliance with all US and statutory GAAP regulations whilst strengthening and optimizing financial controls, policies and processes within the region.
- Lead the functional experts, eg Controllers, Treasury and Tax, to complete statutory & GAAP filings & audits and reporting processes, on time, aligning with the compliance calendar.
- Have the technical knowledge to colloborate and advise on complex transactions such as moving into new markets and ensure compliant accounting & reporting requirements are met.
- Drive the month end technical compliance accounting requirements with the other controllers, during the POC, Percent of Completion, project accounting methodology, strongly monitoring revenues, warranty, contingency, LD and margin results.
- Be responsible for leading and ensuring best in class performance of key SOX controls and the completeness and accuracy and on time review & reporting of account reconciliations.
- Using the tool FloQast you will review the project cost tracking files on a monthly basis and drive clarity and consistency across all of those, in line with global requirements.
- Using your audit background you will drive internal audit activity on income statements, particularly on revenue recognition and expense claims.
- Lead the review of internal controls and update policies for the region, as required, working through the Fluence processes, to ensure efficient & effective audit and compliance management is being followed in each APAC country entity.
- Be the region lead in proactively approaching implementation of global initiatives such as transitioning outsourced activity and bringing them inhouse to reduce the reliance on consultants.
- Host regular training sessions on a variety of topics such as revenue recognition, title transfer, incoterms, the code of conduct policy and so forth.
- Lead the monthly Balance Sheet cycle review for HQ.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory APAC & USA accounting developments and develop a forward-looking vision to identify trends in the short and long term which can impact the business.
- Have the strategic know how to balance technical requirements with operational business needs.

**REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS**

You will have:

- Certified Public Account/Chartered Accountant qualification with an audit back ground.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP / relevant statutory GAAP regulations.
- Familiar with SOX for public listed companies.
- Experience with ASC-606 and percentage of completion construction agreement.
- Great communicator, great stakeholder management skills and a proactive personality.
- Ability to work in a dynamic organization, embracing change and working independently.
- Strong English verbal and written language skills are necessary.
- Mandarin or Japanese skills are a bonus.
- Familiarity with SAP an advantage.
