The Halliburton Technology function spans across all product service lines working on technical advancements and development of products of services to address industry challenges and create value for our customers throughout the oilfield lifecycle.

As R&D Mechanical Engineer, the goal is to collaborate and deliver engineered drilling solutions and reservoir insight to maximize asset value.

Job Overview and Responsibilities
- Act as Technical lead in analysis, modification and design of downhole tools
- Define input requirements and deliverables of internal and external customer
- Guide execution of development and verification/validation plans to ensure requirements are met
- Collaborate with other disciplines and support functions to ensure smooth delivery of solutions and create impactful relationship
- Use and guide others on engineering tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) to model, evaluate and deliver innovative solutions
- Incorporate Reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process
- Contribute to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions
- Experience working with integration of mechanical, instrumentation, hydraulic or sensor subsystems preferred
- Experience selecting materials for vibration, erosion, corrosion, fatigue and other failure modes preferred
- Expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) preferred
- Experience with CAD and CAE software (Solidworks and Ansys preferred)
