The Senior Product Engineer is responsible for driving engineering programs in new furniture development in addition to leading factory validation, product assessment and inspection in coordination with suppliers, testing laboratories and our internal teams.

Works on projects from design through the production phase to ensure program success. Implements and refines fabrication methods and processes for complex designs.

Supports a cross functional team and coordinates activities with production, supply chain, quality, and reliability engineering co-workers.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Oversee and manage engineering related matters in new product development
- Create mechanical drawings from selected/approved design concepts when required
- Work closely with factory engineering to ensure manufacturing feasibility
- Provide technical and project leadership to resolve production yield and manufacturability issues
- Manage production costs
- Track project development and ensure timely deliverables
- Work closely with in house production team to prepare test plans and reports (track results)
- Ensures workflow and processes are to maximum efficiencies for business necessity
- Act as the technical lead and liaise between Product and Industrial Design, Product Management and Supply Chain
- Reports to the VP of Product Design and Development

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Mechanical engineering degree required - Masters preferred
- 5 - 10 years of experience in related field - Furniture development
- Experience with furniture manufacturing in metal (aluminum / stainless steel), wood, hand weaving and extruded synthetics, die-casting, and rotational molds
- Bilingual in both English and Chinese (written & spoken), knowledge of Bahasa Melayu is a plus
- Ability to travel on a frequent basis
- International operations experience
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, Pro-E, Solidworks or AutoCAD. Able to produce production drawings
- Proficiency in FEA analysis is a plus
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite software is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
