Senior Scientist

The Manufacturing Intelligence organization within Pfizer’s Global Technology & Engineering helps to drive Pfizer Global Supply toward ‘Industry 4.0’ capabilities through Big Data, Process Analytical Technology, Advanced Process Control, Artificial Intelligence and robotics.

The Manufacturing Intelligence organization identifies and delivers high-value transformational opportunities focused on insight and control of manufacturing assets and processes with the potential for substantially reducing cost and cycle time as well as increasing robustness and productivity. The organization is also accountable for the identification of opportunities across the network of manufacturing sites and for the development and deployment of PAT and Artificial Intelligence as part of customer focused projects.

The successful applicant will work in the Manufacturing Intelligence organization and collaborate with manufacturing sites (e.g. Tuas and Tuas 2), other Global Technology and Engineering teams, and the Research and Developmentorganizationto support the development and deployment of Process Analytical Technologies, data analytics, soft sensor, APC, andArtificial Intelligencesolutions which will accelerate the delivery of new product processes for small Molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacture and which will positively impact transfer and commercial manufacture of existing products

The successful applicant will be a member of the Small Molecule Operations team within Manufacturing Intelligence. The Senior Scientist will have responsibility to develop and implement Process Analytical Technology, Advanced Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Process Control solutions/capabilities to achieve actionable insights, support investigations and enable continued improvement for pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality operations.

**Responsibilities**:
- Understand business opportunities and identify and prioritize highest impact process analytical technology, data analytics, automation and control solutions- Effectively manage complex projects and priorities, with a strong focus on business return- Support the development of regional/divisional strategies for Manufacturing Intelligence and help customers to develop local site strategies-
- Undertake complex troubleshooting to support investigations based on a broad knowledge of manufacturing operations- Responsible for developing and bringing novel process/ equipment focused solutions that enable a step change in manufacturing performance into routine use in the manufacturing environment- Expand on existing and deliver new innovative technologies that drive insights and empower data-driven decision making and process control- Collaborate effectively internally and with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders with an open attitude towards fast learning.- Act as a Manufacturing Intelligence SME on relevant Pharma Innovation Programme Singapore projects.- Communicate effectively at multiple levels covering project technical details or progress and impact updates to key stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications and Attributes- Relevant degree and background in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related technical field with 2-5 years experience after graduation.- Hands-on experience in key technical areas, including Process Analytical Technology and control (such as near-infrared, Raman, on-line particle sizing, and ultra-violet spectroscopy)- Hands-on experience of data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence- Familiarity with industrial process control, automation systems and advanced process control platforms (such as DeltaV)- Expertise in advanced multivariate data analytics, such as latent variable modelling for time series, root cause and anomaly detection- Self-motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills- Good knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing (cGMP) and related unit operations, and demonstration of delivering high business value through technical innovation.
