**Roles & Responsibilities**
**Job Scope**:
1. Support the Principal in planning and leading the overall operation and management of the school, and lead the school team in former absence, including the communication, implementation and evaluation of a shared vision of learning;
2. Supervise the alignment, coordination and delivery of assigned programs and/or curricular areas;
3. Provide professional learning programs consistent with student needs, assessment and program evaluation;
4. Select, induct, support, evaluate and retain effective teaching and support staff, including HR and renumeration policy;
5. Monitor and implement assessment and assessment preparation;
6. Work with all staff to develop and implement a school improvement plan as is required;
7. Endorse and regularly review school policies, disciplinary action, code of ethics and academic practices;
8. Monitor Government Policies and EduTrust requirements;
9. Endorse and implement appropriate disciplinary action on teachers;
10. Communicate and coordinate effectively with the Academic and Examination Board;
**Experience required**:
1. At least 5 years of teaching and/or managing academic department
2. Relevant school management or related leadership experience
3. Familiar with school quality assurance like EduTrust
**Other Skills required**:
1. Good writing and communication skills, effectively bilingual (including Mandarin)
2. Passionate in mentoring and guiding teachers
3. Effective in counselling students, and good interpersonal skills
4. Strong work ethics, assertive in making decisions and a good planner
5. Able to multi-task and perform under pressure
6. Responsible, reliable and knowledgeable
**Qualifications required**:
1. A Bachelor Degree on any discipline (preferably Education Related)
2. A certificate in teaching
3. Certificate in Student Counselling or Behaviour Management (optional)
4. Additional certificates in communication and leadership skills will be an advantage
