- An opportunity has arisen for an extraordinary and enthusiastic Principal Data Scientist who is passionate in crafting, developing, and fielding data science solutions that drive impact for healthcare professionals, patients and for JJIM.
- As a member of the Asia Pacific Data Science Centre of Excellence, you will leverage your technical and communication skills to work on maintaining existing and developing new innovative data science models and algorithms. Your ability to learn quickly, demonstrate enthusiasm, bring a depth of machine learning understanding, and an appreciation for developing great products for our customers will be paramount to your success in this role. Primary focus areas include improving customer engagement and supporting our different therapeutic areas with innovative machine learning solutions. Specifically, you will:
- Be an individual contributor focused on developing and deploying machine learning solutions, in collaboration with the leads of the data science pillars, with particular focus on great solutions with the latest generative AI technologies.
- Collaborate with data scientists, our IT partners and our business partners across APAC to conceive, develop, and implement new analytics solutions to high-priority problems aligned with the regional game plan.
- Mentor and provide support to more junior individual contributors as appropriate.
- Remain at the forefront of the latest data science trends and best practices - in particular those to do with Generative AI, be able to integrate them into JJIM processes when appropriate, and be open to sharing that knowledge across the APAC Data Science CoE for collective capability building.
- Participate in select forums or conferences, which may require you to travel across Asia Pacific from time to time.

**Qualifications**:
Key to your success in this role will be your foundational expertise in machine learning and proven history of writing clean and efficient code for the purpose of leveraging the latest data science technologies for organizational impact.
- **Required**:

- Master’s/PhD in computer science, machine learning, business analytics, statistics, mathematics, bioinformatics, or related discipline.
- At least 6 years of experience in developing and deploying ML solutions in a variety of ML areas such as recommendation engine, semantic search, forecasting, anomaly detection, STT, TTS etc.
- Strong experience and knowledge of various gen-AI models and architectures, including fine-tuning open-source models, distributed training and hosting of LLM and LLM Ops.
- Solid understanding of foundational machine learning concepts and algorithms.
- Experience working with good DevOps practices, familiarity with CI/CD tools and infrastructure as code (Docker/Kubernetes/etc.).
- Expert knowledge of Python and SQL programming.

**Preferred**:

- Strong contribution to open-source projects.
- Thought leadership in AI/ML.
- Experience in any cloud-based stack (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
- An interest in innovating in the pharmaceutical industry.
