**RESPONSIBILITIES**

As **Technical Superintendent **you are responsible for ensuring all MSC vessels under their control are operated in a safe, economic, and efficient manner. He/she ensures that the vessels are managed and operated in accordance with the requirements/ instructions issued by MSC Management Committee, flag state administrations and classification societies.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensuring managed vessels are operated efficiently to required standards to minimize downtime and maintain the client’s assets.
- Ensuring managed vessels comply to all statutory requirements concerning certification, safe manning, safety procedures, plant, and machinery regulations. And that all appropriate records are maintained, liaising with, and making appropriate updates to classification societies, state flag administrations etc when necessary.
- Ensuring that all ship operations, shipboard activities, the standard of maintenance of facilities, vessel externals are to company’s standards.
- Conduct vessel inspection, auditing daily technical running of vessels and providing advice to vessel staff and company management.
- Conduct investigations on incidents and implementation of corrective action and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor dry-dockings and other required repairs and maintenance jobs.
- Possess strong understanding of the technical knowledge of ships and keeps abreast of industry standards and regulations.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or other relevant degrees
- Experienced Marine Technical Superintendent with at least 4 years of working experience in the maritime industry.
- Experience in dry-dockings, different types of engines and deck machinery.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a global working environment.
- Strong leadership qualities
- Accountable, adaptive, and decisive individual
- Ability to work well under pressure and work independently
- Pro-active individual with ongoing risk management skills to ensure successful completion of projects and environment.
