Job Scope: Mechanical Engineer - Air/Odour Control Systems

1. System Design & Engineering

Develop detailed mechanical designs for Wet Chemical Scrubber systems, including packed-bed configurations (vertical counter-current and horizontal cross-flow), mist eliminators, dampers, and stacks.

Design Dry Scrubber (Activated Carbon Filtration) units—focusing on adsorption processes, pellet beds, airflow considerations, and frame design.

Support design work for Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) / RCTO systems—understanding high-temperature oxidation processes and structural layout.

2. Equipment Fabrication & Testing

Coordinate fabrication workflows for scrubber components, including PLC control panels, pumps, valves, and exhaust fans.

Lead factory testing to ensure functional integrity and compliance with performance parameters.

3. Installation & Commissioning

Oversee mechanical installation activities: hoisting, positioning, assembly of scrubbers, ductworks, stacks, and associated piping.

Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)—including pollutant removal efficiency tests—and perform system commissioning.

4. Documentation & Regulatory Compliance

Prepare detailed O&M (Operation & Maintenance) manuals, system schematics, and guidelines.

Manage submission of engineering documentation to local authorities (e.g., NEA, BCA, SCDF).

5. Maintenance & Performance Assurance

Plan and supervise preventive maintenance regimes to ensure optimal system uptime and longevity.

Troubleshoot mechanical or process-related issues—calibrating flow rates, inspecting components, and optimizing system controls.

6. Project Coordination & Multidisciplinary Liaison

Engage with project management teams to align mechanical design with schedules, budgets, and safety standards.

Collaborate with civil, electrical, instrumentation, and control engineers (e.g., for ACMV, chiller systems, utilities hook-up) to ensure seamless integration.

Additional Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement: Propose engineering enhancements to improve performance, lower operating cost, or streamline installation.

Safety & Quality Leadership: Uphold safety protocols and quality standards in line with ISO certifications and company values.

Pay: $3,500.00 - $4,000.00 per month
