About the role
What you need to know:
As our Lead you will have management responsibilities for our broker produced portfolio of accounts worth over USD10m, working alongside our Reinsurance and Digital teams. You will;
- Manage the day-to-day workings of our broker casualty business across Public/Products Liability, WICA, Environmental Impairment Liability and Product Recall.
- Guide a team of 3 Underwriters focusing on broker business
- Be involved in Quarterly Business Reviews with international brokers such as Marsh, Aon, WTW, Howden
- Provide portfolio reviews to ensure retention, rate, profitability and business mix are optimized
- Approve underwriting referrals where appropriate and upwards management where necessary to support underwriting decisions and actions
- Assist on financial reporting and planning for AIG Casualty giving key input on this portfolio
- Be responsible for broker strategy setting and pipelining
- Maintain and enhance relationships with brokers in Singapore
- Service a personal portfolio of accounts
- Work alongside actuarial departments and claims on complex risks
- Prioritize workload to achieve internal and external deadlines
- Contribute to Singapore and APAC projects when necessary
- Striving to meet profit center and personal new business budget targets
- Identify business opportunities and convert ideas to reality through product development and enhancement
- Work with other Departments across AIG to achieve corporate objectives
- Build on the Company profile in the market
- Proactively keep up to date with industry and business issues
What we’re looking for:
- Diploma / Degree
- General Insurance experience including Casualty lines.
- Broad knowledge of the insurance industry
- Positive attitude
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative to resolve issues
- Desire to develop and foster relationships both within the company and with producers
- Ability to analyze data to make accurate assessment of risk
- Capabilities to maintain a flexible approach in a changing work environment
- Analytical individual with strong business acumen
- Strong negotiation skills
- Good team player with excellent interpersonal skill
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
