**Job Purpose**
- To co-ordinate production and technical services/activities of the Centre within corporate policies and guidelines with the objective of creating a world-class arts centre with efficient and effective backstage operations.
- Production Co-ordinator (Grade II) - This is the entry level as a full Production Co-ordinator. Applies well developed knowledge and skills to one or more specific projects or services requiring the development and adaptation of a wider variety of specialized procedures and techniques (under limited direction). Expected to participate in the training of staff and to assume a supervisory role when required. Must have the ability to develop, test and evaluate complex options and issues.

**Duties and responsibilities
1. Client Liaison for department
- Acts as a Liaison with clients on technical and staffing needs, co-ordinates and schedules production and technical activities of the venue. Also acts as a liaison with front-of-house staff for performances. Interprets and communicates technical plans and needs to relevant technical departments and input into venue management system.
- Provide client (both internal and external) with estimated production costs on a timely basis and revise as needed. Complete invoices and work orders and verify costs on completion of the event.

2. Policies and procedures for division
- To assist in developing and implementing policies and standard operating procedures for the department.

3. Production and technical activities
- To coordinate production and technical activities of the venues in order to ensure efficient backstage operations through effective scheduling of resources.
- To advise clients (both internal and external) when appropriate on possible ways to improve the production values of the show within the parameters established.
- To help maintain the production values and/or standards as established by the Technical and Production Department.

4. Production database
- To share and maintain contacts of creative and other backstage resources and suppliers.

5. Rostering of staff and work schedules
- To provide production schedules and manpower based on the show/event technical requirements via EBMS. Hire and supervise casual stage managers and other casual/contract staff as required. To assist Technical & Production Manager in deploying and managing technical staff effectively.

6. Occupational Health and Safety
- Ensures that a safe working environment is maintained in all stage and, backstage areas at all times.
- Ensures that technical crew and backstage visiting personnel are always in proper PPE at all times.
- To conduct regular safety inspections.

7. Ancillary functions
- To coordinate and event manage ancillary venues or events.
- Assist in technical induction training courses.

8. To carry out and assume any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by senior management.

**Qualifications**

1. Educational qualifications
- A tertiary qualification from a recognized institution in Technical Theatre, stage management, or equivalent professional experience in Technical Theatre.

2. Training
- Training in First Aid and Fire Safety/Fire Fighting is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge in stage craft, stage lighting and stage audio.
- Computer literate.

3. Experience
- Production Co-ordinator (Grade III)
- Minimum 5-year experience in the Technical Theatre / Live Entertainment industry or similar/ related field or trade.
- Staff Supervisory experience is essential as is the ability to work effectively while unsupervised.
- Production Co-ordinator (Grade II)
- Minimum 3-year experience in the Technical Theatre / Live Entertainment industry or similar/ related field or trade.

4. Specific skills required
- General people management skills and ability to work as part of a team is important. Skill in quality customer service is essential together with good communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of accounting is also an asset.
- Knowledge of the arts industry in general and theatre technical production procedures is also crucial.
- Ability to interpret and communicate ideas and information effectively.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, other languages are considered an advantage.
- Dedication to delivering a high-degree of customer service.
- Ability to take a proactive, methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to work within a team and accept direction is essential.
- Openness to ongoing training and professional development both with-in and beyond one’s area of expertise.
- Willingness to conduct training for other Production Personnel.
- Broadmindedness in terms of willingness to work in the performing arts.
