The analyst will be responsible for generating differentiated investment ideas, conducting rigorous company and sector-level analysis, and building direct insights through regular interaction with industry participants and corporate stakeholders. A critical requirement of this role is the ability to actively engage with **corporate China**, developing a deep understanding of the local ecosystem—including companies, industry structures, and policy drivers—and connecting these insights to broader international investment themes. Fluency in Mandarin is required.

**Key Responsibilities & Duties**
- Conduct fundamental equity research across the EV, battery, and battery metals sectors
- Assess investment opportunities in commodity futures/options for key battery metals such as lithium, nickel, and cobalt
- Present high-quality pitch decks and investment recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams across trading, commodities research, and principal investments to generate actionable insights

**Requirements: education, competencies & skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in equity research or investment banking, ideally in commodities, mining, or industrial technology sectors.
- Established global network with key players in the EV, battery, and mining sectors
- Demonstrated expertise in:

- Financial modelling, accounting, and valuation methods
- Supply/demand modelling and cost curve analysis
- Technical understanding of battery technologies and components
- Role requires multilingual communication skills, particularly in Mandarin and English, to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, actionable insights.

**Preferred Requirements**
- Experience in integrating commodity fundamentals with equity analysis to develop cross-asset investment views
- Knowledge of both regional and global capital markets, with the ability to connect local market developments to broader international investment themes.
