**Overview**

Veson is scaling our team to include a Presales Consultants to support the growth of our Commercial efforts in all regions. As an integral part of the sales team, this role will help envision, architect and articulate solutions for both New Prospects and Existing Clients, including Software Solutions, Professional Services and Development, to align with and meet their business objectives. This role will be a key player in supporting the sales team to sell Veson Nautical’s solutions to prospects and clients.

The Presales Consultant role is a critical part of the sales cycle and is NOT a typical “give demos” role. In this role, the Presales consultant will be positioned as a trusted advisor to our commercial team, prospects and clients to be the go-to technical resource to build credibility in the products, services and company and to design, and envision how Veson’s Software, Services and Development can be deployed to meet the needs of the client.

This includes providing “deeper dive” product demos/presentations when needed, behind the scenes support and technical evaluations (POCs and RFPs), initial SOWs and Professional Services Estimates associated with an opportunity, with a constant goal of creating, validating and gaining customer agreement to Vesons ability to deploy resources to meet the customer’s needs. The Pre-Sales Consultant will act as a liaison between sales and the larger Veson Company for deeper technical assistance (when needed) and will contribute to the product team to help prioritize features based on input from prospects, existing clients and partners.

This role will report to the Director of Global Commercial Solutions Consultants. In this role, this person will:

- Collaborate with the Sales, Services and Product team to articulate the overall Veson value proposition, vision and strategy to customers and partners.
- Be on the cutting edge of features and functionality with our entire suite of solutions
- Build credibility with prospects and clients in Veson’s ability to meet their requirements.
- Be the go-to internal technical resource for the sales team, educating teammates, clients and prospects on Veson’s offerings and innerworkings.
- Assist with technical engagements (deep dive product demos/presentations) with prospects during the sales process.
- Regionally own the sales demo and sandbox sites to streamline and creatively develop a crisp experience when demonstrating Veson’s solutions
- Use in-depth product knowledge and technical skills to suggest and potentially develop product solutions for prospects.
- Act with urgency and precision to give users best-in-class pre-sales support in troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate notes and feedback in Salesforce regarding client and prospect input both on opportunity wins and losses.
- Travel as needed. This role requires frequent travel within APAC and occasionally global, for both internal and external engagements.
- Directly support the sales team in one of Veson’s geographical locations but be available to collaborate or provide coverage in other locations as required.
- Work with other Pre-Sales team members to improve team structure and ways of working.

**Qualifications**
- A natural self-learner who enjoys taking the initiative and able to absorb new information quickly
- Experience with context-switching between customers and products
- 1 to 3 years’ of commercial maritime, commodities, ERP or complex software related Presales, technical consulting, software superuser or related high-level enterprise installation, configuration, and support experience will be important for the role
- Passion and ability to educate and excite clients, prospects and teammates about the potential of the Veson’s platform
- Ability to work collaboratively with the sales team to build and execute a close strategy per account
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills geared towards the ability to effectively understand and articulate both the business benefits (value proposition) and technical advantages of our offering.
- Experience selling to or supporting complex customers.
- Experience presenting to management level stakeholders in a face to face and remote client environment
- In some regions, additional languages may be required or deemed a beneficial quality.
- Language Requirements: This role covers the APAC region and would require support of clients in multiple countries. (**English** is a must, **Japanese **is highly preferred, Chinese would be a plus)
