The role: *
Are you an entrepreneur at heart with a technology background? We are seeking a junior Software Developer to join the first ever Plusgrade Labs team. Labs will be an agile team of 5-6 ambitious individuals focused on identifying and launching new Ancillary Revenue products. We will move with purpose and speed creating proof of concepts and rapid prototypes, having a lot of fun along the way.

Joining Labs is a chance to be creative and be involved in the entire software lifecycle. You will take an active part in product ideation, planning, delivery, and iteration. This is a frontend developer role, but if you are comfortable fullstack that’s great too. If you are a “smart creative” and can combine great ideas with a technical way of thinking, this role could be perfect for you.

Home base for this role is Plusgrade’s Montreal office, however we offer a flexible work from home policy.

Qualifications: *
- You have a business/commercial mindset and can think outside the box
- You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability.
- You are a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other developers is no problem for you.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or Javascript programming languages, or significant experience with another language such as Java, Python, C# or C++.
- Experience with React (or similar front-end library: Angular, Vue.js, Flutter) and a state manager library like MobX, Redux, Ngrx Store or Vuex.
- Familiarity with responsive designs, CSS 3, SASS/SCSS, or CSS-in-JS.
- Knowledge of HTML 5, JSON, HTTP, CORS, or Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP).
- Experience building a GraphQL service and crafting queries is a nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (BSc), or equivalent training or work experience.
