**What the role is**
- Overview The Health Promotion Board’s vision is to make Singapore a nation of healthier people and be recognised as an international authority on health. You will be a part of HPB’s School Health and Outreach Division which engages educational institutions to establish supportive health promoting environments and policies, implements programmes as well as engages key stakeholders to ensure that children and youth in Singapore are in optimal health for holistic growth, learning and development. Parent and Caregiver department supports the Board’s vision to nurture healthy habits in our young by overseeing execution, innovating, and making continuous improvements in programme implementation and outreach strategy to address emerging health issues/trends. The Deputy Director reports to the Director and is responsible for the outreach and partnership engagement with alignment to HPB’s strategic intent to further the mandate of the department.
**What you will be working on**
- Scope As the head of the Parent and Caregivers team, is to lead innovation and integration efforts to strength HPB’s effort in engagement and health promotion for the parents and caregivers’ segments. You will be leading a team of officers to build meaningful statistical knowledge, identify trends, needs and gaps, use ground insights to inform and influence HPB programme team(s) to deliver attractive value propositions for key partners and target audience. You will lead internal and external collaborations to create new solutions or integrate existing efforts into more holistic and effective strategies, and last but not least, you will monitor implementation for prompt and continuous learning and improvement.
**What we are looking for**
- Skills and Experience You’ll Bring You’ll need to be a positive, dynamic, and self-motivated individual with at least 8 years of working experience (preferably at a middle management level), and possess: - An understanding of health promotion works and the “what’s needed” to operate in this new space of parents and caregivers. - Leadership and coaching skills: Able to guide, motivate and influence not just your officers but also your peers and stakeholders - Strong Negotiation/influencing and conflict management skills - You will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical, integration, account management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels - You will be constantly looking for new growth areas and new knowledge - You will be creative, able to multi-task, adaptable to fast-changing environments with a strong desire to excel. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, take stressful situations and tight deadlines in your stride, as well as adapt to new situations and challenges quickly, this is the job for you.
