Senior Research Specialist, Oil

Position Summary

The LSEG Oil Research team provides market insight and analysis and to clients interested in the crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals sectors through assessment of global supply and demand, trade flows, infrastructure outages, derivatives markets and other trade-relevant activities.

We are currently seeking a Senior Research Specialist, with market or industry knowledge of LPG and Naphtha. The role is based in Singapore with a focus on the Asian markets, though knowledge of market dynamics across other regions or at the global level is desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic Research team to develop new methodologies, quantitative models and analysis that directly create client impact

Role Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience Required- Bachelor's degree equivalent knowledge of Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Data Science, Engineering or Petroleum studies from a reputable university. A Master’s or technical specialization / certification would be an advantage.-
- Collaborative and flexible approach to delivering value-additive outcomes for clients.- Understanding of financial markets, and their impact on the oil industry.- Network of physical trading contacts in Asia and, potentially, other regions.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively convey information at various levels within the organization, as well as external clients.- Experience building global supply and demand models, either as part of a Research advisory organization or for an oil company, is highly desirable.-
- Strong time management skills for balancing multiple tasks simultaneously, while completing work within allocated timeframes.- Good critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
