Assistant Vice President, Cyber Security Incident

Considering escalating cyber threats globally and increased expectation from regulators, SMBC have established a regional Security Operation Center (SOC) and Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT) to uplift our cyber surveillance and incident response capability for the region.
As part of the SMBC Cyber “Blue” team, you will assist the Group Head and the Team Lead to
- Improve the bank’s preparedness to deal with cyber incidents
- Strengthen Cyber/Security Governance and risk management practices
- Collaborate with the Training Team to uplift Cyber/IT competency and awareness within the bank
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage communication among key stakeholders, e.g., IT teams, SOC, Legal/compliance, Management etc., during a Cyber crisis. C-suite level communication is required
- Develop appropriate communication plans, templates, or playbook for use during incidents.
- Collaborate with BCM team to upkeep bank-wide cyber incident management process
- Co-organize and participate in Cyber drills with Head Office or Regional Cyber teams to maintain the bank’s readiness against cyber-attacks.
- Manage competency development of Cybersecurity specialists in the Bank
- Work with various cyber operational teams, e.g., SOC, CSIRT, Security Engineering, to curate cyber-security focus training content as well as facilitating the delivery of the cyber awareness training to all employees.
- Represent SOC/CSIRT to participate in Cyber audit or Cyber risk assessment (e.g., FFIEC CAT, MAS Cyber Advisories)
- Support projects or strategy undertake by SOC/CSIRT to improve cyber security posture and control effectiveness, advancing technical capabilities to keep pace with the latest threats
**Job Requirements**
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferably in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent with min. 3 years of experience in the Finance sector (Singapore)
- Min 5 years of relevant experience in Cyber Risk management or IT/Cyber security roles
- Previously managed Cyber security audits or assessments on behalf of the organization
- Experience in drafting of Cyber incident response plan/playbook and organizing Cyber exercises
- Good appreciation of cyber risk management strategies/controls in the industry
- Prior experience in delivering security awareness training at the enterprise level or developing IT competency framework
- Professional certification such as CISSP, CISM or other Cyber-related qualifications
- Familiar with prevailing cyber threats and cyber-related regulations within APAC
- Possess good understanding of core IT concepts/skills, e.g., programming, system administration, Cyber operations, TCP/IP etc is necessary
- Preferably skilled in any Cyber-related IT domains, e.g. Cyber intel, incident response, Forensic, Cyber/Security governance etc.
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
