We are seeking a highly skilled Integration Development Lead to join our client’s team at the. As the Integration Development Lead, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and direction for the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of the integration platform (MuleSoft) in our Integration Platform. Additionally, you will coordinate the integration community and ensure effective communication between members in the C4E and for the whole community, encouraging and governing feedback and suggestions for process improvements on the platform, and act as a technical mentor and advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

- Be a technical point of contact for the projects
- Provide accurate estimates of development effort
- Own the resolution of all technical issues raised on the issues register
- Work closely with Architects/Analysts to ensure they have enough understanding of the technical issues in order to produce the design
- Work closely with delivery team to ensure you have a thorough understanding of the design and the technical output required
- Ensure the project owner is kept up to date, making them especially aware of any issues and delays related to development
- Understand the technical environment and being liaise with the domain/solution/enterprise architects, to ensure their requirements can be meet or technical investigations need to occur
- Assist in the design of the Application Architecture in conjunction with Project Leads
- Ensure all technical (i.e. non-functional) requirements are met (e.g. capacity, security, scalability, performance, error handling, robustness, extensibility, etc.)
- Proof of concept prototyping
- Ensure programming standards are adhered to in development
- Ensure regular internal project code reviews are done
- Ensure all Unit Test Checklists and Test Plans are completed to a high degree of quality
- Other duties as required.
- The role may have quarterly Key Performance Indicators to maintain.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Experience as a technical leading and providing advice to teams
- Experience in multiple platforms and technologies (including iPaaS with strong MuleSoft knowledge, and event-driven systems such as Kafka) across design, security, data interchange, data management.
- Solid understanding of the following areas (with practical experience in several):
Infrastructure as Code (Container Orchestration, Observability, CI/CD)

Modern security practices

Modern API platform design (REST, GraphQL, etc.)
- ICT Systems or specific skills/tools required: MuleSoft and Runtime Fabric instance of the platform and GitHub Actions
- Always looking for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Be an advocate for incremental evolution of Integration platforms.
- Current and varied experience across public and private sectors is highly desirable.

Contract Details:

- Contract duration: Start ASAP - 16.5 Months contract
- Extension options: 2x 6 months at the sole discretion of the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
