**Responsibilities and duties**
- **Patient care and monitoring**: A hemodialysis nurse performs physical and vital sign assessments before, during, and after a treatment. They continuously monitor patients for any adverse reactions and must be alert for changes in blood pressure and other serious conditions.
- **Dialysis treatment administration**: This includes prepping the hemodialysis machine, inserting needles into the patient's access (such as an AV fistula or graft), and connecting them to the machine. They must ensure all equipment is functional and the treatment is delivered precisely according to the physician's orders.
- **Patient and family education**: Nurses educate patients on how to manage their condition, maintain their health between treatments, and the specifics of performing their home dialysis if applicable.
- **Documentation**: They are responsible for meticulously documenting patient assessments, treatment progress, and any other relevant information in the patient's chart.

**Skills and qualifications**
- **Education**: A registered nurse (RN) license is required. Some roles may require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- **Specialized skills**: The role requires proficiency in operating dialysis machines and performing procedures like needle insertion.
- **Key personal attributes**: Strong attention to detail, patience, and excellent communication skills are crucial for patient education and care. The ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations is also vital.
- **Must have experience patient care before, during, and after dialysis by monitoring vital signs, operating dialysis machines, and administering medications.**

Pay: $1,300.00 - $1,700.00 per month
