**What you will be working on**
You will be leading a team of officers in the Retail Branch responsible for ensuring a competitive retail electricity market and protecting consumer interests. The areas of focus include: Promoting competition in the retail electricity market and safeguarding consumers' interests by monitoring the performance of the market and behaviour of the generation companies and retailers and taking swift regulatory enforcement actions against anti-competitive conduct. Supporting Singapore's climate change goals in the electricity sector by assessing the impact on the retail electricity sector from the Singapore Energy Transition and recommend changes as needed to ensure it continues to deliver the intended outcomes. Ensuring that the retail market design and regulations remain relevant in a rapidly changing energy landscape, as part of a wider review of Singapore's electricity market structure. Addressing the impact of the global energy crunch on the retail sector by working with industry stakeholders and consumers so that the sector continues to function as intended. Mentor officers so that they can become more effective policymakers and leaders.
**What we are looking for**
- Education in Economics, Accountancy, Finance, Business or Engineering. At least six years' experience in regulatory work as well as policy design and implementation. Experience in energy markets, consumer protection, or competition law will be an advantage. Experience in leading a team for at least two years. Strategic thinking skills and ability to interact confidently with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior management. Excellent communication skills and able to design effective communication strategies and messages to influence and achieve desired organisational outcomes
