**Position Summary**:
We are looking for an Assistant VFX Editor who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative mindset and passion for great filmmaking that defines ILM.

The Assistant VFX Editor would help in the set up and complete all editorial work as requested by a Senior, Lead or Co-Editor on a Feature Project(s).
**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Assist in maintaining/updating of VFX shot dailies for multiple artist disciplines
- Assist in updating/conforming sequences from client and vendors
- Assist in preparing sequences for client reviews
- Assist in working closely with VFX Supervisors in providing abbreviated cuts for reviews
- Assist in working closely with Animation Supervisor and Animation Lead in curating previs mockups
- Under the supervision of the VFX Editors (Leads) request all scans from the client editorial and scan facility
- Maintain the in-house editorial database, tracking render lengths and adjusting cut lengths according to client updates for assigned shows
- Output sequence movie files, minicuts, audio files, and EDLs for CG as specified by Production
- Provide visual reference for Production, Animation, Stage, Art Department, Client, etc.
- QC Editorial client deliverables and prepare avid media for upload
- Import consolidated media from clients
- Assist in editing internal and external marketing reels
- Assist in handling show wrap-up including: layoff of movie files, finals reel, publicity media
- Performs special projects under the supervision of the Lead/Senior Editor, Creative Director, Production Manager or Department Manager
**What We're Looking For**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Film or related field desired, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience with Avid Media Composer
- Proficient with Mac OS
- Experience in a command-line environment (ie: Linux)
- Familiarity working with audio/dialogue
- Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines while working under tight schedules
- Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Passionate, proactiveness, meticulous and always willing to learn is essential
- Must be well organized, punctual and have a good attitude
- Should have an attention to detail, stay calm under pressure
- Comfortable in a team editorial working environment including remote work from home
- 1 year post-production film experience (eg., film handling, coding, logging)
- 1 year post-production HD tape acquisitions (eg., timecode, logging, capturing)
- Understanding of different video codecs, multiple file formats
- Animatic storyboard experience a plus
- Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Davinci Resolve experience a plus
- Familiarity with database software Shotgrid a plus
