**Main Responsibilities**

**Teaching, learning & CCAs**
- Providing support for individual students to enable them to fully participate in activities.
- Providing support in lessons for practical/higher risk activities.
- Providing support in departmental CCAs for practical/higher risk activities.
- Assisting with demonstrations as required.
- Preparing equipment and other learning materials in advance of practical lessons.
- Supporting teachers with discipline and student management to maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning in lessons and CCAs.
- Photographing/documenting student activities and learning outcomes.

**Administrative and general duties**
- Assisting with administrative tasks in the PE & Health Department, as directed.
- Ensuring that all departmental materials and equipment are in good, safe working order and are stored safely and securely.
- Overseeing stocks and ordering of departmental consumables.
- Supporting the oversight and maintenance of departmental spaces (sports hall, classroom, field, etc).
- Being available to accompany School teams to fixtures, both home and away, in a range of sports (this may include after school, weekends and/or school holidays).
- Preparing and presenting displays of students' work in teaching spaces and surrounding areas.
- Sourcing display materials and specialist printing.
- Assisting with the organisation of departmental events, such as Sports Day.
- Assisting with the planning and organising of departmental trips.
- Assisting with the logistics related to visiting practitioners.
- Attending staff meetings as appropriate to the role.
- Escorting students to and from the medical centre or hospital when necessary.
- Participating in in-service training as appropriate to the role.

**Other Duties**
- Maintaining confidentiality and observing data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
- Observing all practices relating to child protection, security, fire and emergency and Health and Safety.
- Understanding and complying with all other relevant school policies.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the level of responsibilities of the post.

**Safeguarding**:

- Abide by the school safeguarding policy and keep abreast of any changes.

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Relevant Degree or equivalent in swimming, sports or physical education preferred
- Minimum 3 years of working experience within a school or other education environment
- Positive and dependable team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous, resourceful and with a strong sense of initiative
- A Cover Letter, stating your suitability for the role
