**Job Summary**:
Provide day care services to the clients attending the Day Care Centre and Dementia Care Centre. This involves and includes the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe environment for the clients and assisting the clients in personal care and activities of daily living.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
1.1 Render assistance and supervision of the clients, ensuring client comfort and safety, according to the standards set by ASC Hillview
- Receive clients at the drop off point and assist them to the centre
- Help the clients settle down after arrival
- See to dietary needs - serving of meals, feeding, nasogastric feeding
- Supervise and assist the clients in the various activities
- Conduct group programmes and activities for the clients under the supervision of the therapists
- Accompany clients to the DRC
- Assist in elimination needs where necessary
- Encourage clients and assist them to settle down for a nap after lunch

1.2 Assist in the mobility of clients

1.3 Document activities undertaken by clients regularly

1.4 Flag out clients who are unwell and/or have sudden change of status to appropriate staff and assist with follow-up

1.5 Participate in inservice training programmes designed and catered for upgrading of the staff

1.6 Be familiar with the fire and safety policy and procedures of ASC Hillview

1.7 Maintain good housekeeping

1.8 Participate in quality improvement projects to improve processes in the centre

1.9 Carry out other duties as assigned from time to time
