Senior Manager, Energy Infrastructure Site Selection

Our client is a global leader in the wholesale data center solution space.

The Senior Manager, Energy Infrastructure Site Selection will be responsible for the identification of energy availabilities and initial scouting of energy infrastructure that aligns with Company's strategic goals and site selection plans of record for each identified market and georegion. This position will drive location targets for site selection activities that meet land and energy acquisition objectives.

Key elements of the role will include identifying, mapping and plotting the location, type and availability of energy infrastructure for specific regions or markets, identifying utility partnership opportunities, directing the Business Development site selection team to targeted locations and validating real estate sites. Identifying the availability of energy infrastructure for the Company to grow in APAC/EMEA will underpin all aspects of the role.

Technical competency, and comfortability with physical infrastructure.

**Responsibilities**:

- Direct investigation to overlay energy options and availabilities with suitable sites for data center infrastructure and development.
- Complete preliminary research and evaluation of energy infrastructure, power availabilities and sources of energy in targeted areas. This includes the preliminary screens of all incoming new sites, assuring all required documentation and analysis.
- Act as a single point of contact for the Site Selection & Acquisitions team with utility providers to understand timing, costs and opportunities for physical energy infrastructure supporting data center developments.
- Understand, analyse, and incorporate current energy legislation and policies into energy infrastructure sourcing strategies.
- Identify new energy trends or clean energy sources that will impact site selection strategies.
- Align availability of power opportunities with other key technical site selection criteria such as metro and backbone fiber networks, subsea cables, and related infrastructure to incorporate into Site Selection Plans of Record that will drive the execution of site selection and acquisition activities.
- Review and evaluate all new sites to comply with required energy requirements and to identify energy opportunities for expansion.
- Participate in initial site assessments reviews.
- Complete site pre-qualification and initial due diligence activities related to energy sourcing and provisioning.
- At the appropriate time, hand off to the New Site Development team to complete energy acquisition and final technical due diligence.

Qualifications:

- Degree in Technology, Engineering or equivalent required.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience with energy infrastructure management and delivery.
- Technical competency with energy infrastructure, understanding of energy systems and use.
- Familiarity with all components of energy infrastructures including generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity; physical networks of oil and natural gas pipelines and the major forms of renewal energy.
- ArcGIS mapping skills
- Project management experience, with the ability to carry out initial energy analyses and energy due diligence.
- Site selection experience preferred.
- Strong IT skills: ability to use multiple communication tools and packages essential
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization and with other stakeholders and third parties such as suppliers
- Demonstrated ability to lead external teams with excellent relationship-building skills, and ability to work in a collaborative manner.
- Provide a high level of commitment to customer service with co-workers and stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Able to work under pressure

- This position requires an organized individual with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and to prioritize work effort, all with mínimal supervision
- Ability to travel up to 50%. National and international travel will be required on a regular basis.
