**What you will be working on**

You will be part of a team that conducts feasibility studies on various energy technologies, with a view to enhance our understanding of possible options for Singapore. The team also develops the long-term outlook, roadmap and implementation plans of these technologies.
The scope of energy technology areas includes advanced nuclear energy technologies, advanced geothermal systems, and other emerging energy technology solutions.
You will be responsible for evaluating a comprehensive set of costs and benefits of emerging energy technology, assessing its value against other energy options and determining its role in Singapore's energy mix. The considerations include (a) safety, (b) energy security, (c) environmental impact, (d) economics, (e) regulatory requirements, (f) impact to Singapore's economy, (g) social impact, etc.
You will work with both local and overseas collaborators such as research institutes, government agencies, international experts, and consultants, to conduct studies to holistically cover various aspects of the technology. These studies could include market and regulatory models for the technology and their resulting costs, calculations on the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) /dispatch modelling to assess impact on electricity price and market, developing quantitative techno-economic modelling and simulation, working out economic impact due to social and environmental factors, etc. You will be responsible for managing and working closely with the collaborators to steer the projects and ensuring the outcomes are in line with Singapore's requirements.
You will develop and implement plans to deploy emerging energy technologies of interest in Singapore over the long term. These plans will include policy, regulatory and market frameworks necessary for the deployment of emerging technologies in Singapore. You will be required to work with other EMA departments, government agencies and external stakeholders to develop and implement these plans.
In addition, you will have to ensure that EMA's position on various energy technologies are communicated clearly and accurately to our stakeholders. This involves the ability to communicate complex technical issues in a manner that is easily understood by the general public.

**What we are looking for**

Background in Economics, Business or other relevant areas.
Relevant working experience in energy markets and policy design would be an advantage.
Good knowledge and understanding of markets and policies for emerging energy technologies will be an advantage.
Good to have strong technical understanding of PLEXOS modeling, data analytics and visualisation for the purpose of developing energy fuel mix and policy frameworks.
Excellent analytical, planning and communication (written and verbal) skills are critical for this position.
Able to represent EMA in communicating with internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Able to work well with a large number of internal and external stakeholders, and build and maintain relationships with them.
