**MAIN PURPOSE**:
Primary responsibility is to supervise and lead the team to carry out maintenance work under the direction of Sparrows Engineering team.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ability to inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
- Ability to repair mechanical components (for example, winches, valves, etc).
- Ensure completion of preventative maintenance program.
- Manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment.
- Ability to comprehend mechanical drawing & hydraulic schematics.
- Ability to follow Sparrows and client’s procedures.
- Ability to use all types of measuring equipment.
- Understanding tolerances and types of “fit”
- Identify and log defects and raise corrective work orders in a prompt manner.
- Ensure good housekeeping in your work area.
- Remain safety cautious and ensure yourself and your team members use compulsory PPE.
- Ensure you are familiar with all applicable work and safety procedures and promote them within the workplace.
- Supervise a team of Mechanics on all preventive, routine and non-routine maintenance work for the overhaul of mechanical equipment.
- Ensure the correct materials and equipment are available to complete any repair work scope.
- Regularly communicate with Sparrows Engineer to keep them updated on maintenance activities.
- Complete paperwork thoroughly and in a timely fashion.

**WORK SCOPE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Note: can be one or combination of any depending on the assigned work scope**

**Crane Specified Requirements**
- Ability to identify all types of crane equipment components.
- Demonstrate a full understanding of winches, engines, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, Rated Capacity Indicators, crane safety system and their working parameters.
- Demonstrate an understanding of API 2C & 2D Recommended Practices.
- Ability to follow lift plans.
- Prepare crane as required for inspection or survey by third party verifier.

**Drilling Specified Requirements**
- Ability to identify all types of drilling equipment components.
- Ability to identify critical parts within drilling equipment.
- Ability to accurately use parts lists and understand where equivalents are allowed.
- Ability to use heating and burning torches.

**SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Hold a mechanic qualification or can demonstrate at least 5 years of verifiable mechanical engineering knowledge and work experience.
- Complete Sparrows new employee/ contractor induction.
- Pass the Sparrows Competency assessment - Supervisor, General Mechanic L2, Measuring and Crane Mechanical Supervisor as essential requirement, plus other relevant assessment dependant on work scope, if required.
- Fluent in Written and Spoken English.
- Good communication skills.
- BOSIET is a must for offshore work.
- Relevant MOM qualification is required for onshore work in Singapore dependant on the type of works carried out.
