The Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) has been caring for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PWIDs) and their families since 1962.

DESIGNATION : Healthcare Assistant / Basic Care Assistant / Nursing Aide

RESPONSIBILITIES

A Healthcare Attendant is responsible to ensure that cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping are maintained for residents’ well being and to assist in basic care of the residents under the direction of Nursing Team.

**Cleanliness of the environment**

Maintaining cleanliness of the Home premises

Performing gardening and simple maintenance of the buildings and premises

Keeping the environment safe, tidy, clean and hygienic

**Laundry Duty**

Providing laundry services and ensure there are adequate supplies of clean clothing

Providing laundry services (laundry machines are available)

**Basic Care**

Assist in food preparation and feeding of the residents under the supervision of nursing team

Assist in transferring of the residents from dormitory to dining hall/activity area and vice versa

Assist in maintaining the residents’ personal hygiene

**Manage the storeroom/inventory**

Supervising volunteers performing housekeeping activities

Receiving stores/donations and record of inventory of donation items

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum primary school education

Must be able to read and understand simple English

OTHER INFORMATION

Must be in a good health

Experience working with persons with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred
