Electro Mechanical Technician

**Award-winning medical device startup (GyroGear.co **) has a single opening for a skilled **Electro - Mechanical Technician **at our **Singapore office **. We are developing intelligent wearable devices to stabilise hand tremors for 200 million people globally.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
We are looking for a electro-mechanical technician whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Raising POs, ordering and maintaining components, tools and materials for all engineering aspects of the company
- Ensure the training of all EE/mechanical lab technicians is kept up to date
- Equipment maintenance, either done in-house or outsourced as necessary.
- Coordinate maintenance schedule with business needs to minimise impact on work progress.
- Ensure high-value equipment is used correctly and safely
- Design and manufacture of jigs, prototypes, circuit boards and other electro/mechanical items
- Training and support for other technicians - ensuring maintenance of existing skills and training up on new skills if and when needed.
- Ensuring relevant Build and/or Maintenance Docs are kept up-to-date
- Manage day to day workload for the other technicians and allocate work when needed
- Manage the Asset and Calibration register and organise equipment calibration and PAT testing
- Support Engineering team members on their electrical and / or mechanical construction requires, subcontracting where necessary.
- Liaise with all company departments to ensure smooth running of projects.
- Manage waste management where WEEE and Rosch is relevant.
- Manage goods inwards for EE/Mechanical parts
- Monitor compliance to H&S regulations in the EE/Mechanical laboratories under guidance of H&S officer.
- Dedicated first point of contact for lab users with concerns relating to H&S in the EE/Mechanical laboratories.
- Manage and enforce any re-arrangement of lab spare, change of purpose, etc.
- Support implementation of QMS in workshop area of office
- Instruct new employees to local lab rules and procedures.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a lab technician role with preferably two of those at senior level.
- Proven qualification in soldering and/or CNC machining. Soldering skills should involve small SMDs down to 0402 parts.
- Experienced at inventory management. First-hand knowledge of different electronic component types and their characteristics.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the ISO13485 and/or ISO9000 standards would be advantageous
- Experience of audits, both internal and external
- Experience as a team member in customer and/or certification audits would be advantageous
- Experience in multisite environments involving internal and external project teams.
- Experience in both small and large organisations would be advantageous.
- A recognised qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering at HNC or HND level is advantageous but not essential.
- General knowledge of standard tests for EMI/EMC compliance is advantageous but not essential.
