ARS-PD (Advanced Recording Subsystem - Product Development) is a section under the ARS organization umbrella that includes HME (Head Media Electrical), HDM (Head Disk Mechanical), Read-Write channel and preamp.

**About the role - you will**:
**Dual Role & Responsibilities**
- ** Knowledge**: Magnetic Storage fundamentals, Head/Media Electrical Spin-stand testing are preferred but could be sent for accelerated courses and OJT.
- ** Skillsets needed**: Python programming, C++, Procomm Plus.
- 2nd role (secondary): SF3 coding for system VBAR (Variable Bit Aspect Ratio) to assist VBAR architect in innovation projects. Take part in yield improvement projects that involve optimizing drive VBAR algorithm.
- ** Knowledge**: Accelerated courses and OJT (On Job Training) will be provided.
- ** Skillsets needed**: Python programming, C++, Procomm Plus.

**Your experience includes**:

- Fundamental knowledge in hard-drive magnetic recording physics is preferred.
- Preferred software coding experience in Python programming, C++, Procomm Plus.
- Final year projects or internship experience that having good hands-on and problem-solving in software coding would be a plus point.

**Location**:
The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass-transportation to work. Ample free on-site parking is also available.
