Research Associate position in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS). With a strong focus on industrial projects, we are developing our exciting technologies beyond the lab scale. We are seeking a talented and experienced individual with a background in chemical engineering and electrochemistry to join us.

As a Research Associate, you will contribute to our industry projects focusing on scaling up our battery recycling technologies from lab to pilot scale.
- Testing and optimization of small scale and pilot scale systems including troubleshooting of process.
- Engineering design, Mass & Energy balance calculations, Equipment selection and flowsheet development for scale up systems.
- Liaising with suppliers and contractors for procuring and setting up scale up systems.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor or Masters in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials science and engineering, Chemistry or other relevant fields.
- 3-5 yrs’ experience in leaching, precipitation, crystallization, and electrochemical process is preferred. Above 5 yrs experience will be considered for a senior role to lead pilot scale operations.
- Prior industrial experience in Lithium, Nickel refining process development and piloting new technologies is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of process safety (HAZOP, PHA).
- Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis and interpretation.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
