**Public Equity (EQ)**
The Public Equities (EQ) department pursues active management strategies in equity investing. We invest globally and are organised along product groups specialising in different total return, relative return and quantitative strategies.

We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated and organized sustainability and active engagement analyst who is passionate about sustainability. The work will be directly applicable to further developing the framework of EQ’s Sustainability strategy, underlying policies, procedures as well as portfolio-level strategy. The role would be to act as a catalyst for cultural change, develop and expand Active Engagement that will drive the department to deliver continuous improvement in ESG performance.

**Responsibilities**
- You will be part of a team responsible for driving the implementation of various sustainability initiatives across Equities and GIC, and work directly with the wider team to roll-out these initiatives. Some of these will be direct strategic and operational implementation of the sustainability strategy and initiatives of the client via engagement with invested corporates and internal teams, and change management
- You would be expected to work closely with the investment teams in stewardship issues of raising awareness, upskill and proactively engage with investee companies. You may be a point person for external joint engagements with counterparties such as CA100+ or peer investors or specific opportunities to work with consultants or external asset management teams to review and co-ordinate ESG data collection, ensure data consistency and quality, and monitor progress against ESG KPIs and targets
- Over time, this person would be expected to help coordinate with client reporting teams, as well as present on sustainability policies, engagement and integration outcomes on behalf of Equities

**Requirements**:

- You should have solid knowledge and be up-to-speed with global climate issues, regulatory reporting and governance norms including corporate and social environmental programs like Science Based Targets and a good understanding of the historical background of industry ESG standards (such as supply chain standards) and controversies. Relevant experience and background in sustainability analytics or ratings such as ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics would be preferred
- You would be an independent, proactive worker with strong problem solving skills and excellent communication, able to identify opportunities and build relationships across a range of stakeholder groups within the organization
- It would be helpful to have a working interest and experience in the technology sector, particularly in regard to internet/climate solutions and platforms
