Software Engineer, DevOps

Team & Role Overview:
You will be joining the Global DevOps team located in APAC and US. We are a bunch of experienced and passionate DevOps engineers craving and ready to pounce on any opportunity for automation and tooling around CI/CD enabling a smooth SDLC for our engineers and other stakeholders involved. We are responsible for the continuous development and support of pipelines, deployment strategies, secret management and any tooling that enables our stakeholders to operate efficiently. Anyone joining this team should have a un-ending appetite for automation and creative ways around it.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Clear understanding and alignment with the DevOps strategy of the organisation- Automate and build out tools related to the management of the production environment.- Create systems and tools to drive capacity planning, performance analysis, instrumentation and other non-functional systems requirements.- Self-driven individual who is also effective in organizing tasks within the team and cooperating with stakeholders from other teams.- Drive quality accountability within the organization with well-defined processes, metrics, and goals for process quality.-
- Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.- Effectively manage multiple stakeholder demands and expectations while maintaining quality and delivery.- Work with the engineering teams to architect and build our platform services to simplify real-time troubleshooting and operational response to incidents and outages.- Responsible for the security, availability, scalability and efficiency of company cloud infrastructure running round the clock.- Building systems to automate the provisioning, deploying and monitoring of various services and products. - Designing infrastructure that supports our architecture and helps the engineering team to deliver new features quickly and robustly.- Keeping tabs on industry trends, help shape best practices and help the company innovate.

Experience & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience with software engineering, software development or system operations.- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems.- Good understanding of database technologies.- Experience with CI/CD platforms.- Good understanding of HashiCorp tooling such as Terraform, Vault, Packer (optional)- Firm understanding of Kubernetes- Experience building & supporting Cloud based platforms, either AWS or GCP- An eye for security and automation. Should be able to recommend / proactively discover opportunities and work on them- Competency in scripting & or development languages - Python, Java or others.- Experience with large scale distributed systems and microservices.- Strong communication skills to work well with multi-functional engineering teams addressing conflicts and critical issues.- Ability to explain technical concepts in clear non-technical language.- Strong organizational skills: ability to organize and complete multiple projects in parallel.- Most importantly the individual should have a vibrant personality who can work well with the global team with the ability to effectively communicate over collaborative tools such as Slack, Zoom etc.
