**The Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre (慈光乐陶苑及智障日间活动中心)** were set up in December 2000 to offer community care options to adults with intellectual disabilities who are aged between 18 and 55.

Funded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the former is a purpose-built facility designed to accommodate 103 residents, whereas the latter is supported under the MSF and Tote Board Social Service Fund to provide day care services for a capacity of 50 beneficiaries.

Our programmes aim to equip all recipients with the skills and means to lead independent and fulfilling lives, so as to achieve social integration and quality of life.

Tending them with holistic care and working closely with their primary caregivers to provide well-rounded support is a multi-disciplinary team comprising a social worker, training officers, staff nurses, assistant nurses, nursing and therapy aides.
- Assist in the proper supervision of Nurse Aides, Health Attendants, General Assistants/Workers.
- Concurrently Responsible for the medical needs of the Clients.
- Ensure that all related staff’s dealings with clients’ discipline is within guidelines and ensure that there is no corporal punishment or ill treatment.
- Review daily reports on clients’ activities.
- Supervision of clients during meals.
- Maintain good communication skills among colleagues.
- Preparation Duty Roster, if assigned.
- Preparation of a general guideline manual for dealing with Clients, including behavioral problems.
- Assessment of Clients progress.
- Provide training.
- Familiarize clients’ family background and maintain close rapport with the family on a professional level.
- Know the Centre’s objectives and curriculum well.
- Attend Training Courses to adapt for changing skills, etc.
- Recommend new programs, and if agreed by superior for implementation, implement programs and monitor progress.
- Participate in fund raising activities.
- Any other duties as assigned by superiors.
**Job Requirements**:

- Minimum Diploma/ degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Registered with Singapore Nursing board.
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience.
- Ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Hardworking, meticulous and responsible.
- Service oriented with good interpretations skills.
