Business Controller

**Role**

Business Controller is a hybrid role responsible for the comprehensive view of Acumen Engineering and Pegasus Polymers, a Ravago company in distribution and its affiliated manufacturing business (financial results, operational KPIs etc.), and work with commercial/operational management to improve profitability of the business in accordance with policies or a portfolio of entities in Southeast Asia. This role manages the financial reporting for internal and external to comply with regulatory requirements, providing insights and analysis on financial performance, key metrics, and trends, coordinate the preparation of reports. It also involve data analysis, collecting and analysing financial data from various sources, identify anomalies, potential issues and provide recommendations for improvement.

**Responsibilities
**Controller**
- Prepare annual financial budget and cash flow forecast. Monitor and compare financial results to ensure budget is achieved wherever possible. Review and revise budget if needed.
- Perform ratios, sales margin and cost variance analysis to identify areas for cost cutting, recommend and implement courses of actions to improve company’s profitability.
- Analyse financial information to support strategic planning, product development, potential acquisition & sales.
- Establish and review product/process costing use as basis for price negotiation with customers.
- Develop capex budget and business case analysis for new capex projects. Monitor capex spending against budget.
- Ensure inventory records are captured accurately in ERP system. Perform inventory analysis to work towards improving stock turns and reducing holding cost.
- Offer support on ad hoc finance projects.
- Joint responsibility with regional accounting manager to supervise and provide guidance to two accounting staff.
- Monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting to business units and senior management.
- Reporting line to Head of Business Planning & Analysis at Ravago’s headquarters in Belgium.

**Financial Reporting**
- Managing the financial reporting process, including preparation and distribution of financial statements and quarterly reports to the various stakeholders
- Develop and maintain accounting policies
- Leading financial reporting projects such as implementation of changes in accounting standard
- Manage the relationships with external auditors
- Perform accounting controls by executing policies and manage assigned balance sheet
- Collect and analyse financial data and make recommendations
- Ensure all reporting are in compliance with regulatory requirements

**Requirements**:

- Recognised bachelor degree and above, preferably in business, finance, accountancy, economics or other related discipline
- At least 5 years’ work experience in similar capacity
- Finance experience in manufacturing environment will be an advantage
- Confident in expressing and communicating discrepancy, including negative recommendation
- Effective team player and solid independent professional with highly adaptable to a cross-cultural environment, and working closely with a multitude of professionals from various nationalities
- Strong analytical skills and logical approach to problem solving
- Positive attitude, proactive, energetic, a hands-on person with good business acumen
- Strong sense of internal control and a keen eye for details and process improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Finance shared service experience would be a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Highly skilled in MS Office especially excel
