Join us to establish the right Category Management strategy for the mechanical or electronics components. This is a newly established position in Singapore where you will be instrumental in influencing the right sourcing strategy and supplier base

Your mission

As our new Commodity Procurement Assistant Manager, your mission will be to monitor our suppliers and ensure our organisation chooses the right materials for our various platforms.

You will work closely with platform managers to gain an understanding of the platform components and features. Using this knowledge and your understanding of both the industry, our competitors and future technologies, you will assist them selecting the right suppliers and sourcing strategy from day one.

More specifically, you will:
Negotiate the best contractual agreements by ensuring a commercial and technical package that meets procurement requirements

Ensure optimum savings and cost tracking through cost/trend analysis

Ensure that our commodity category strategies are in alignment with our procurement strategy and business goals

Identify and deliver value-adding opportunities within the supply chain

Assist in the continuous best practice development of our procurement function and processes

Ensure that our database is up-to-date and create a sub-database consisting of strategy-related components

Work closely with Product Development/Project Management team to develop the appropriate supply base for new product development projects

Work closely with Exploration/Innovation & Longevity/Cradle to Cradle Teams to source the suppliers for various products

Build and maintain solid relationships with our various suppliers

To meet the needs of the business, you can expect international travel.

Your network

As part of the department in Singapore, you will join a number of highly skilled colleagues who work closely together. You will be working autonomously on projects, but sill collaborating with colleagues across Development, Procurement, Engineering, Marketing, Planning and ODM.

What you bring

With multicultural understanding and effective interpersonal skills, you work well in an international setting where you interact with colleagues and suppliers across borders and nationalities. Furthermore, as a natural initiator you explore ideas, pursue knowledge and ask questions. You also know how to influence others, and as an articulate professional, you know how to communicate in a clear-cut manner.

Moreover, you bring:
1-3 years of experience in commodity procurement, which has given you a comprehensive in-depth understanding of procurement and sourcing concepts

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or Supply Chain Management

Knowledge of procurement processes and tools

The ability to translate technical insight into strategies and communicate these using your advanced PowerPoint skills

Fluency in English
