As part of our growing global team, we are now expanding our AI research division and seeking an exceptional AI Research Scientist with deep expertise in Applied Mathematics to drive the next wave of innovation.

**Role Overview**:
As an AI Research Scientist - Applied Mathematics, you will work on fundamental and applied research projects to solve real-world problems with mathematical rigor. You’ll design novel algorithms, optimize AI model architectures, and contribute to our core technology roadmap, bridging the gap between theoretical innovation and practical deployment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and conduct research at the intersection of applied mathematics and AI, particularly in areas such as optimization, statistical modeling, dynamical systems, and control theory.
- Develop innovative mathematical frameworks and algorithms to enhance AI models in terms of performance, scalability, interpretability, and robustness.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to integrate research outputs into apps and AI-driven solutions.
- Contribute to intellectual property development through publications and patents.
- Present research findings internally and externally (e.g., conferences, academic collaborations).
- Mentor junior researchers or engineers when appropriate.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- PhD in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or related quantitative disciplines.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant post-PhD work or research experience (industry or academic).
- Deep expertise in mathematical modeling, optimization techniques, numerical analysis, or stochastic processes.
- Solid knowledge of modern machine learning techniques and familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with scientific computing tools (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, MATLAB).
- Track record of high-quality research (publications, patents, or real-world contributions).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Familiarity with real-world data constraints and deployment scenarios.
- Prior work on large-scale models, generative AI, reinforcement learning, or probabilistic programming.
- Contributions to open-source projects or research communities.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is strongly preferred, as the role involves cross-border collaboration with Chinese-speaking stakeholders, research partners, and technical documentation.
