The Research Associate will be responsible to, and collaborate with, the Principal Investigator (PI) and study team members to conduct various research projects in the field of neurodegeneration to achieve high quality and impactful deliverables.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Hold independent projects under the guidance of the PI: to work independently and with study team when required
- Perform experiments (including stem cell and 3D cell culture, molecular and microbiology technique, vaccine development, etc) and surgical procedures on laboratory animals (rodents and non-human primates) and the downstream post-mortem tissue processing e.g., harvesting, sectioning, staining and microscopy.
- Maintain proper records of all experiments done and results obtained
- Perform data analysis using a variety of statistical methods and/or platforms of results obtained
- Establish and maintain laboratory records and inventories e.g., experimental protocols
- Assist PI with literature searches and scientific writing in the form of ethical documents e.g. IACUC and IRB, grants, manuscript, reports, reviews, etc
- Participate in poster and/or oral presentations in scientific conferences
- Participate in regular lab meetings/discussions actively
- Offer technical guidance and research support to other laboratory members in experiments when needed (including cell culture, mouse experiments, mouse specimen collection and fixation, tissue sectioning, histology, Western blotting, microscopy, etc.)
- Train new team members e.g., assist in supervising internship students.
- Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Participate in school / dept initiatives and activities when assigned
- Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.
