To ensure Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) standards are being complied with for SunRice and all retail and manufacturing customers. The scope covers all 3rd party providers (SunRice sites, Contract Millers, Contract manufacturers, distribution centers and service providers) that make up the end-to-end supply chain. The incumbent will be required to ensure we meet the required certification for FSQ for regional office and supply sites. In line with CODEX and GFSI standards, they will support the development of a food safety culture and continuous improvement. In addition, support the New Product Development process through NPD FSQ processes.

The role will lead the regional food safety team to meet objectives and track performance. They will also support the regional leader in all Food Safety Compliance, incident management and BCP needs. The individual will also be part of the FSQ policy team to continual update SunRice FSQ Management System.

**Decisions Expected**
- Day to day functional decisions as required on Food Safety and Quality issues as well as all Technical and Compliance issues through Supply Chain.
- Design and execute food safety and quality standard, processes that aligned with business strategy, regulation requirements and customer expectations.
- Approval of Suppliers and Vendors re SunRice FSQ standards
- Incident management to ensure control of unsafe or unsuitable food.

**Recommendations Expected**
- Appropriate compliance guidelines to meet customer and market standards
- Execution methods to hit SunRice FSQ standards
- Validate suppliers and Vendors based on SunRice Risk and management policy and procedure

Investigation boundaries of issues, scope of product to be controlled and corrective actions under CAPA process

**Major Challenges**
- Ensure third party suppliers achieve the required standards for FSQ so maintain and continuously improve all required accreditations, licences, and registrations required.
- Managing and working to cultural awareness/expectations and regional business conditions. Adjust execution methods to achieve standards for compliance.
- Compliance work is up to date that the KPI’s and tracking allow ample time to prevent and correct deficiencies or alternate supply to be found.
- Identification of reliable partners capable of sustainable growth and performance
- New Sourcing decision involvement to ensure manufacturing systems meet minimum requirements.
- Tailored solutions that achieve long term partnerships and compliance.

**Knowledge Preferred**
- Strong understanding of FSQ in primary and secondary manufacturing and of international FSQ standards management systems e.g., CODEX Food Hygiene Practices, GFSI recognized certifying standards continuous improvement programs and lean manufacture etc.
- Qualified in Sciences Food Science, Food Technology Food Microbiology, or related disciplines
- Continuous Improvement - Knows the principles of continuous improvement, and how to optimise a manufacturing site
