Head of Institutionals Desk

**Job purpose**:
Client Coverage in the Region:
Leading the day-to-day coverage for clients in allocated countries covered from the FI Desk as well as represent the bank towards c-level counterparts of selected Clients in the region.

Coverage of the full product suite including Capital Markets, Lending, Payment and Trade Finance Products.

Close cooperation with the CC-I Management, CC-I Relationship Manager, CC-I FI Desks and Representative Offices, International and German Corporate Client Relationship Manager and the relevant Product Teams.

Management of the FI Desk:
Management of the staff of the FI Desk

Representing CC-I in the local branch governance as well as towards branch management and taking the responsibility for the CC-I clients.

Planning, management and oversee of all revenues and costs of the FI Desk.

First line of Defense and Local Client Owner (‘LCO’):
First line of defense for the risks (country risk, credit risk, compliance risk, reputational risk) of the respective client portfolio jointly with the respective Relationship Manager.

Local Client Ownership for all local CC-I FI clients in the branch in compliance with the relevant local laws and provisions, as well as compliance with the regulatory requirements and internal procedures.

**Main tasks**:
Client Coverage:

- Responsibility for coverage activities with relevant FI clients in the allocated countries in close coordination with the Regional Head(s)/ Global Relationship Manager at Head Office.
- Develop the Client portfolio; identify product and solution opportunities across the entire product suite; widen the client interaction and have an active dialogue with clients’ Senior Executives and other key stakeholders; coordinate the coverage activities across the Client Entities.
- Acts in a holistic capacity - spanning across all business activities performed with the assigned customers in the respective Branch.
- Active elaboration of country know-how / country specific risks as country expert for Commerzbank; independent reporting to CC-I Management about the current economic and political development and risks in the relevant countries.
- Support of the activities of other Commerzbank areas, in particular corporate clients and NBFI, in coordination with the relevant Relationship Manager or Product Specialist.
- Close collaboration with the respective Global Relationship Manager (‘Global RM’).
- Proactive cooperation with product colleagues and operating units at the foreign branch.

Management of the FI Desk
- As Head of the FI Desk responsible for the leadership, management, and development of employees of the FI Desk. Planning and management of revenues, the use of resources (e.g., costs, personnel capacities); develops and optimizes local workflows.
- Representing FI internally in the branch governance; Attending regular and ad hoc meetings with Compliance and Branch management to discuss transactions and other matters of assigned customers.

First Line of Defense:

- Joint responsibility in the identification and management of compliance, credit and reputational risks within the scope of the first line of defense.
- Collection of relevant AML / KYC information locally on his/her own responsibility and support in the evaluation thereof.
- Acts in compliance with the local laws and provisions (amongst other things, regulatory requirements, labor law, tax and commercial law), as well as the relevant internal regulations of Commerzbank.

Local Client Ownership:

- Acts as representative of the First Line of Defense on behalf of CC-I Financial Institutions customers which are locally on boarded on basis of a valid Global Introductory Certificate (“GIC”) and for whom transactions are conducted by or through the Branch (“assigned customers”).
- Considering the regulatory topics in relation to the onboarding / refresher process following the requirements of the Local Client Governance Committee (LCGC) until the account opening process (AOP) for locally assigned CC-I Financial Institutions customers has been rolled out for FI accordingly. Holds a veto right after consulting the Global Relationship Manager with regard to the on boarding or maintenance of respective customer.
- Reviews the product matrix and has the right to veto certain products for the respective Branch; he/she cannot extend the product scope documented in the matrix.
- Together with General Manager & COO of the local branch (as primary point of contact for the regulators) and with the support of Legal and Compliance, coordinates and maintains the relationship with the respective public authorities and institutions including regulators safeguarding of the interests of Commerzbank and serving as the business representative for regulators within the scope of the responsibilities of the function.
