Senior UX Designer

Based in Singapore, reporting to Lead UX Designer, this Senior UX Designer role will work closely with other product designers to create, manage, and iterate on design frameworks and systems.

This role requires high-quality attention to detail and craft which will impact millions of users that are served by Viki’s product and service offerings.

What success looks like for this role:

- After 3 months: You have taken UX ownership of your projects
- After 9-12 months: You have worked on and have helped deliver (business) success across multiple projects
- After 1.5-2 years: You have grown in such a manner that you have taken UX ownership for a certain domain area

Key Responsibilities:

- Contribute to Viki’s design system, creating detailed specs, documentation, logic, and rules for a variety of use cases
- Translate projects into design assets and systems that meet business goals in a timely and efficient manner
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing team and engineering team to ensure consistency and quality as a system of frameworks, patterns, and components
- Own the Design QA process across design and engineering teams to assure design quality by auditing component implementation during development
- Contribute to Viki’s design system, creating detailed specs, documentation, logic, and rules for a variety of use cases
- Educate, advise, and spread awareness of design system fundamentals, tooling, workflows, and usage across Viki’s Design
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Able to work independently (unsupervised) and as an active member of a team
- Engage users in the design process and evaluate user feedback
- Seek to establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards
- Mentoring and onboarding other UX team members

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years of product design experience
- Knowledge of platform-specific (web/mobile) UI interface patterns and behaviors
- Passion for building highly scalable solutions and services
- Have basic knowledge of UX process and research
- Experience with iterative development and engineering processes
- Hands on experience with and a proficient user of Figma which is the primary tool for this role
- Good interpersonal skills
- Growth mindset with a desire to continuously learn
- Highly collaborative across multiple disciplines and product groups

Preferred Qualification:

- Excellent project management skills, proactive with own deadlines, scheduling, etc
- Effectively communicate thought processes and ideas to inspire and lead other squad members to turn these ideas into engaging, intuitive, and usable experiences as part of a digital product or service
- You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, strategists, designers, and technical teams to workshop and define future user experiences for the team
- Experience working in start-up and/or media company environments
- Strong attention to detail and strong visual design skills (supported by a portfolio of recent work)
