**About this role**
This is a key role in an established technical consulting team, based in Kuala Lumpur. As a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer, you will be working on a range of Malaysian and international assignments in the energy and renewable power sector from small scale generation to utility sized generation. Technology would cover Hydropower, solar PV, battery energy storage, hydrogen, biomass and waste to energy (thermal and biological).
Relevant workstreams would cover energy advisory, renewable energy studies, and front-end engineering design.

**What will I do?**
- Assist in bridging the gap in developing techno-economic analysis for clients across Malaysia.
- Work without supervision, referring up as necessary. In achieving this you will be responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budgets and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets in your own area.
- Represent Arup at internal and external events and you may be responsible for designing and delivering events, activities and projects which impact the business.
- You may be responsible for the performance and development of others through providing guidance, training, direction and feedback.
- **What will I bring?**:

- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in mechanical, chemical, electrical engineering or similar area.
- Relevant industry experience in energy, project proposals, within a consulting business environment.
- Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
- Strong working knowledge of the energy sector in Malaysia, currently challenges of the sector, and understanding of how the sector needs to transition.
- A good technical understanding of a range of equipment and processes used in the electricity generation sector and key issues affecting each technology.
