ABOUT MS AUL

The MS Amlin business wrote approximately £3.7bn of GWP in 2019, of which approximately 55% was placed via the Lloyd’s platform through Syndicate 2001, one of the largest Lloyd’s syndicates. Syndicate 2001 is a diverse underwriting business operating across a number of UK and overseas locations. MS AUL is the Lloyd’s managing agency which directs and manages the affairs of Syndicate 2001. MS AUL is wholly owned by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group and is regulated by the PRA, FCA and Lloyd’s.

Syndicate 2001’s book is split into two main business areas: Specialty and Reinsurance. Specialty comprises 5 departments (Property, Casualty, Marine, Natural Resources and Crisis Management) and Reinsurance covers a mix of property, casualty and specialty lines.

The Specialty business forms part of a global specialty franchise across London, the Middle East, the Far East and continental Europe. MS AUL also operates as part of a global reinsurance franchise with offices in London, Zurich, Bermuda, Miami, New Jersey and Singapore.

MS AUL is estimated to write c.£1.5bn of GWP in 2020, split approximately a third Reinsurance and two-thirds Specialty.

ABOUT MS AISE

MS AISE is a long standing local specialty insurer, providing knowledge based and efficient service propositions to commercial clients. Our strategy is ‘to provide efficient knowledge-based service propositions to our commercial clients based on a dual distribution model (Bespoke and Streamed line business)’. Our corporate (international) approach and an efficient proposition for the SME clients (supported by digitalisation initiatives) will be key to reach our final goal.

Job purposeThis is where you come in.

You can help MS Amlin to achieve this by:

- Having a sound knowledge and/or practical experience with maritime law. Preferably with 2 to 4 years PQE but not necessary to be English or Singapore law.
- Being highly motivated and positive
- Providing the Assureds with timely and practical advice /guidance
- Maintaining / developing (as the case may be) relationships with our Assureds through the handling of claims
- Having a mentality and drive to want to solve problems
- Being a team player, offering support to other claims handlers especially in months where renewals are underway and there are large volumes of claims.

What we are looking for:
