Overall Key Position Objective

The incumbent is to conduct day to day underwriting and related administrative tasks as part of the Singapore Accident and Health (A&H) Underwriting team. You will work within established guidelines and authority limits to ensure that products are underwritten to meet line of business targeted ratios for losses, commissions and committed production targets.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsible for underwriting of A&H insurance products with focus on Direct Marketing and Leisure Travel product.

Ensure all business is underwritten within established guidelines.

Work with internal business teams and manage the product development process.

Support portfolio management of various A&H product lines.

Responsible for system setup, preparing of policies documents and other related requirements.

Liaise with other functional groups to ensure appropriate and timely flow of technical information into and out of the Underwriting Unit.

Attend to routine administrative work such as vetting of policy wordings, typeset etc.

Support filing and reporting requirements for the Underwriting Unit.

Manage ad-hoc projects as and when assigned.

Maintain close and good relationship with other functions and business units at inter-department and country/regional level.

**Requirements**:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma with approx. 5 years general insurance experience, preferably in A&H (Travel, Personal Accident, Hospital Cash and Dental) underwriting.

BCP and PGI certifications essential.

Professional qualification such as ACII or Diploma in GI (SII) is a plus.

Highly proficient in verbal and written communications in English.

Organised, meticulous and able to manage own time and work efficiently.

Keen attention to details and able to produce quality and accurate work consistently.

A team player with strong problem solving and analytical skills.

An effective negotiator with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Independent, resourceful and tenacious self-starter with a drive for self-improvement and progression
