**Job Title**:
**Dance Instructor**

**Job Purpose**:
To design and conduct a developmentally appropriate and engaging dance training programme that nurtures students’ artistic expression, discipline, teamwork, and appreciation for dance. The instructor will work closely with the teacher-in-charge to build students’ technical and performance skills while inculcating school values and social-emotional competencies.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Programme Design & Planning**:

- Develop a structured annual/semester-based Dance CCA training plan in consultation with the teacher-in-charge.
- Ensure lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and aligned with MOE’s CCA framework and school’s values and desired outcomes.
- Design progressive modules that include foundational skills, choreography, performance preparation, and reflection.

**2. Instruction & Training**:

- Conduct weekly training sessions to build students’ technical skills, creativity, and performance confidence.
- Teach fundamental and advanced dance techniques (e.g. modern, contemporary, street, or ethnic styles depending on CCA scope).
- Differentiate instruction for beginner and advanced students to ensure inclusivity and growth.

**3. Choreography & Performance Preparation**:

- Create original choreographies for school and public performances such as SYF Arts Presentation, National Day, or school concerts.
- Prepare students for performances, ensuring attention to technique, stage presence, and artistic interpretation.
- Coordinate logistics related to costumes, music, props, and rehearsal schedules.

**4. Values & Character Development**:

- Inculcate values such as **Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Integrity, Care, and Harmony**through dance training.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and perseverance through collaborative practices and performances.
- Provide feedback and guidance to develop students’ confidence and self-management.

**5. Collaboration & Communication**:

- Work closely with the teacher-in-charge to monitor attendance, progress, and behaviour.
- Communicate regularly with school staff regarding student progress and event planning.
- Submit programme plans, evaluation reports, and performance assessments punctually.

**6. Safety & Professional Conduct**:

- Ensure safety in all physical activities by following MOE’s safety guidelines.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with students and staff.
- Safeguard students’ welfare and uphold confidentiality at all times.

**Job Requirements**:
**Essential**:

- Relevant qualifications in Dance, Performing Arts, or equivalent field.
- Proven experience teaching or choreographing for school-aged students.
- Strong knowledge of at least one dance genre (e.g. Modern, Hip-Hop, Ethnic, Contemporary, Street, or Ballet).
- Familiarity with MOE’s CCA framework and Arts Education guidelines.
- Good classroom management, communication, and motivational skills.

**Preferred**:

- Prior experience preparing students for **Singapore Youth Festival (SYF)**or equivalent performance showcases.
- Ability to integrate values education, reflection, and teamwork into lessons.
- Possess certifications in **First Aid**or **Child Safety Training**.
- Flexibility to conduct additional rehearsals or performances when required.

**Performance Evaluation Criteria**:

- Quality and structure of lesson plans.
- Students’ engagement, progress, and discipline.
- Successful execution of performances (internal and external).
- Alignment with school’s values and MOE’s desired outcomes.
- Collaboration and communication with school stakeholders.
