**Responsibilities**:

- Organizing and conducting field work in intact and degraded peat forests in Brunei
- Setting up experiments and measurements aimed at understanding invertebrate biodiversity and related ecosystem functions in intact and degraded peat forest ecosystems
- Design and implement fieldwork and laboratory analysis on invertebrate ecology
- Data management and statistical analyses
- Work effectively with project PIs and local collaborators
- Help writing and publication of results in peer-reviewed journals

**Job Requirements**
**Knowledge and Experience Requirements**:

- BSc degree in ecology or closely related field, preferably with a focus on invertebrate and ecosystem ecology
- Relevant experience in related field
- Experience working with invertebrates
- Knowledge and preferably experience of molecular and/or stable isotope techniques
- Fieldwork experience in forested ecosystems, and in sometimes challenging field conditions
- Experience with statistical analysis with R
- Prior experience in publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals

**Key Competency Requirements**:

- Ability to work independently to develop research and execute fieldwork in tropical rainforests, in conditions that are sometimes challenging
- Collaborative, with interest to work with other researchers and scientists (this is a large team project) to produce high-quality and impactful research
- Interest in invertebrates, ecosystem functioning, restoration, and tropical forests
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Willingness to learn Malay would also be advantageous.
