Material Quality Engineer

First dedicated to production and business relations, the site in Singapore increasingly requires more R&D skills and support. It becomes imminent to setup a local Innovation department.

At the heart of the design of our products, the quality of our materials (Silicon and other materials) is decisive for the success of our products in terms of performance, cost and, of course, final quality.

Soitec has developed over the years a strong technical partnership with the suppliers, now reinforced by the creation of a department dedicated to the Quality of our raw materials.

The site of Singapore is also a key internal supplier for epitaxy materials and refresh process.

What does the job consist?:
**Quality**

In this part of the job, in interface with our suppliers, you play a key role, on the one hand by protecting Soitec from excursions related to the quality of the substrate and on the other hand, by ensuring the analysis of the capabilities which will make it possible to support a process of continuous improvement and deployment of customer and supplier STCs.

A real relay between the Innovation and Quality departments, your mission focuses on the compliance of substrates with Soitec's Quality standards. You are part of our “line of defense” based on systematic detection and containment of excursions (SPC edata and incoming, etc.).

You are involved in the management of substrate-related crises, both in its internal and supplier interface aspects. Of course, you seek to anticipate them through preventive measures that involve data analysis (capability, benchmarks), sharing of FMEAs and feedback.

It is therefore a job of piloting and interaction, internally with the technical specialists in Material Engineering and Quality (product and system) on the front line, but also with the actors of the lines at Soitec and at our Chinese partner (SIMGUI), the Business Units, purchasing, and the supply chain, and external interface directly with our strategic suppliers in Asia, US and Europe.

At the end, you will be accountable for the materials part during customers’ audits.

**Engineering**

In the second part of the job, you are a bridge between the technical teams in Bernin (historical Soitec plant in France) and in Pasir Ris. You are responsible of the technical coherence in case of process changes for epitaxy materials and refresh process. You are in charge of technical benchmarking analysis between internal and external suppliers. In the same time, you lead locally the new materials evaluation and qualification; you manage the creation of new references and specifications.

In this scope, you act as a material engineering expert; you are a legitimate local referent with strong understanding of the materials characteristics and its influence on Soitec products performance, with deep knowledge on materials metrology and defects.

Requirements & qualifications:
With a material science grade, you have an industrial experience of minimum 10 years in Quality management.

You have practiced most of key Quality tools as SPC, 8D, DMAIC, QRQC, Ishikawa.
