**Job Description Summary**: This role provides engineering support for heat treatment and coating processes including vacuum and atmospheric heat treatment, diffusion coatings (chemical vapour deposition and pack cementation) and fluoride ion stripping for the repair of aircraft engine components. The special process engineer shall troubleshoot issues that arise in day-to-day operations, implement process improvements and introduce new processes

**Essential Responsibilities**:
The Special Process Engineer (Coatings and Heat Treat) is responsible for ensuring that heat treatment and coating processes meet quality requirements and operational objectives at GEAES Singapore. This will include:

- Implementing new coating processes in collaboration with product engineers and repair development engineers.
- Ensuring that all heat treatment and coating processes comply with quality requirements, conduct investigations and implement corrective actions as required.
- Working with operations to improve furnace utilization and labour efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Working with operations and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
- Preparing technical specifications for the purchase and upgrading of heat treatment and coating equipment.
- Conducting Risk Assessments and ensure that heat treat, and coating processes are operated in compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations and Policies.
- Conduct buy-off, machine qualification and process substantiation.
- Training for special process technicians

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science
- 3+ years’ experience in the aerospace, heat treatment or materials processing industry
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience and strong desire to learn will also be considered.
- Good understanding of metallurgical and chemical processes used in the repair of aircraft engine components.
- Solid problem-solving skills (ability to manage and resolve conflict, communicate issues and propose solutions to stakeholders).
- Good organisational and people skills
