Stakeholder Engagement Regional Analyst, Apac

**Job Summary**

The role will assist in developing regional strategies for engagement using a data-driven approach, and coordinating outreach and communication activities to the ICANN community to encourage greater awareness and participation in ICANN policymaking.

The core responsibilities of the position include support for engagement activities; research and information-gathering tasks; assisting the development and implementation of the ICANN regional Engagement Strategy as part of ICANN’s larger Globalization Strategy and in line with ICANN’s Strategic Plan. The Analyst's duties are expected to primarily include general administrative support to the ICANN Global Stakeholder Engagement regional team.

***Key Responsibilities & Duties**:
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

- Plan and execute key community engagement activities (online and on-ground) in the region
- Support and manage community engagement projects - drafting reports, note-taking for internal and external use, and managing communication and engagement tools

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND FACILITATION:

- Relationship management and communication across different stakeholder groups
- Representing ICANN in external engagement

INTERNAL COORDINATION:

- Coordinate with the regional GSE team on day-to-day operations such as processing sponsorships, administration of partnership arrangements, and tracking departmental tasks and deadlines
- Work cross-functionally to support the development and implementation of the APAC Engagement Strategy and regional strategic goals in line with the ICANN Strategic Plan
- Assisting with specific capacity building workshops

RESEARCH, WRITING AND ANALYSIS:

- Engage in research, writing and other activities to provide analysis and critical thinking on developments in the region affecting the Internet, ICANN and the APAC Community
- Gather and analyse information and data to track regional community participation and activities for the purpose of identifying gaps and trends
- Research and drafting strategy papers related to ICANN’s APAC Engagement Strategy in line with ICANN’s Strategic Plan
- Gathering and aggregating data, and identification of trends
- Other duties as assigned or requested

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)**:

- Keen interest in Domain Name System, emerging technologies, Internet governance, engagement across different stakeholder groups, relationship management, communications
- Excellent skills in communication, writing, research, event coordination, project management
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment with respect for diversity
- Ability to facilitate projects with project partners, coordinate events, work in a dynamic multi-cultural environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and scheduling required
- Proficiency using MS Office, and keen to learn new software such as Salesforce and other platforms
- Experience with stakeholder engagement programs, international business organizations or multi-stakeholder policy bodies
- Comfortable with social media
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to facilitate projects with project partners, coordinate events, work in a dynamic multi-cultural environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and scheduling required
- Experience developing strong external stakeholder relationships
- Knowledge of ICANN, the Internet and the Domain Name System preferred but not required

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree required, Study in Public Policy, International Affairs, Communications, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a computer related field desired
- Minimum two (2) years of experience or equivalent in a multinational business, intergovernmental or international organization

**Language**
- Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required
- Fluency in Mandarin is required
- Fluent written and spoken language skills in any of the other official United Nations languages, specifically French is strongly preferred

**Working Conditions & Physical Requirements**:

- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee regularly is required to sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear; use hands and arms to reach, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
