The Senior System Engineer, R&D is responsible for designing, building, and testing complex or large-scale, systems, ensuring that the components of the system are integrated and function. The incumbent determines the overall structure of the system, organizes the interaction between components, and evaluates the influence of the environment.

This position is part of the SCIEX Research and Development organization and will be located in Singapore. We empower our customers to solve the most impactful analytical challenges in quantitation and characterization through ground-breaking innovation and outstanding reliability and support.

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:

- Define system architecture to provide desired functionality in product based on User Needs and regional Regulatory Standards. Thereafter generate the system requirements specification (SRS) based on the architectural decisions and technology choices made.
- Ensure that SCIEX Systems Engineering Processes are adhered to as per internal documents.
- Perform, lead/or participate in feasibility study, technical design reviews and FMEA in projects where necessary and ensure the mitigations are in place for potential risks. Identify gaps in design proposals, technical capabilities / techniques, and supports the development of strategies to overcome them through DFM & DFS practices.
- Provide technical support and investigation to field escalation and drive design improvements.

**The essential requirements of the job include**:

- M.Sc. / Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in New Product Development environment working with complex integrated systems
- Good knowledge with precision injection and fluidic control, Injections Electrokinetic and / or Electrospray ionization will be an advantage.
- DFSS knowledge and experience is preferred.

**Travel Requirements**:
**It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in**:

- Technologies such as electrophoresis sodium dodecyl sulfate (CE-SDS), ribonucleic acid (RNA) analysis and / or glycan characterization analysis.
- Capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF) and imaged capillary isoelectric focusing (icIEF).
